Lodging:
There are many lodging options for CSAIL. The following are some favorites according to past attendees:
Hood River Hotel (800) 386-1859
This is the conference hotel and will be the choice for most CSAILors. It is located in historic downtown, close to the shops. It is a quaint, comfortable hotel built in 1911. Most rooms are air conditioned, but a few are not. When you make your reservations, it is important to mention that you are attending the CSAIL conference. A block of rooms for conference attendees will be held until mid-June, but early reservations are strongly encouraged.
Best Western Hood River Inn (800) 828-7873
This is a modern hotel, located right on the river. Some of the rooms have decks that look out over the river (you could almost fish for salmon from your room). There is also a pool for the kids and a beautiful river-side restaurant. It is about a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk to the conference hotel.
Hampton Inn & Suites Hood River (541) 436-1600
This is a new hotel in Hood River as of 2016. It is about a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk to the conference hotel. It is located right next to the river with easy access to water-based activities. If you stay here, let the CSAIL organizers know how it was... it's too new to offer any kind of informed review yet.
Comfort Suites Hood River (541) 308-1000
This is a modern hotel in Hood River, with all the modern amenities, including an indoor swimming pool. It is about a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk to the conference hotel, but is not located in as scenic of a location as the others.
