Reed College encourages students,faculty, and staff to come to campus by means other than single-occupant automobiles. The college offers a number of programs and benefits to encourage this practice. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged not to park on neighboring city streets.

Register Your Vehicle and Bicycle
The college encourages faculty, students, and staff to register both vehicles and bicycles that will be parked on campus. This allows community safety to notify you if there is a problem with your vehicle or car, including a flat tire, oil leak, or break in.
Bicycles
The college encourages students, faculty, and staff to register bicycles that will be parked on campus, and to bike responsibly: follow the rules of the road, wear helmets and reflective gear, and use lights.
Cycling in Portland
Portland is a bike-friendly city, with thousands of miles of bike paths and trails for commuting and recreation. Read the state’s Oregon Bicycle Manual.
Bicycle Parking
There are a number of bike racks on campus for your safety and convenience. Showers are available in the Sports Center. Lockers (located in the lower level of the Gray Campus Center) are available for check-out to students. Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis; register at student engagement.
Bike Co-Op
Reed students operate a bike co-op. They fix bikes, and teach students how to fix their own.
Carpooling
Carpool Parking
Close, convenient parking spaces are set aside for those members of the community who plan to carpool. You may request carpool stickers from community safety.
Trimet
TriMet Passes and Routes
Portland’s TriMet mass transit monthly passes may be purchased at a 50 percent discount off of retail rates, with a valid Reed ID, at the cashier window in Eliot Hall (business office). You may purchase individual trip tickets, maps, and guides at the Reed College Bookstore.

Student Transportation
Night Bus
The Reed night bus is a shuttle service provided by Reed to make students who live off campus feel safe getting home late at night. For more information, see the Community Safety Services web page.
College Vans
Reed owns passenger vans that are available for transportation to and from official school functions. Vans are managed by facilities services, and drivers must be trained and certified by Reed.
Airport Shuttles & Transportation
