Dear Student Body:
The Reed Health and Counseling Center is pleased to announce expanded mental health support for all currently enrolled students. The HCC has partnered with Uwill, the leading student mental health and wellness solution.
Over the course of the semester, the HCC saw a significant increase in requests for therapy sessions for the student body. The compounding impacts of the pandemic and environment pose significant challenges to students and your ability to navigate the academic and student experience. It is our hope that students take advantage of the myriad of options that support your overall health and wellbeing. The counseling services offered at the HCC now encompasses three elements for students to use.
Uwill
Our relationship with Uwill offers you immediate access to counseling with a therapist of your choice should the need arise. There is no cost to use Uwill, and the college will provide students with 360 counseling credits for your sessions.
With Uwill, you have the ability to:
- Choose a therapist based on your preferences
- Choose a time that fits your schedule with day, night and weekend availability
- Choose your appointment type, by video, phone, chat, or message.
Access is quick and easy. You can register and book your first session in just minutes by clicking here. If you need any assistance, you can refer to the Uwill FAQ and User Guide or reach out directly to Uwill at 833.99.Uwill or support@uwill.com.
Togetherall
Togetherall is a safe online community where Reed students can anonymously connect with others who understand what you’re going through. Whether you want to get advice, tips, or just want someone to listen outside of your friendship group, Togetherall is available to you. You too may be able to help others! Lots of students find Togetherall helpful as you can continue exploring your feelings at your own pace, speak to others in similar situations, and make use of different resources without a time pressure–all in the one platform. Register here with Togetherall or learn more about the program here.
Counseling Services offers short-term, solution-focused counseling sessions. Students who wish to access longer-term individual therapy services or present with treatment concerns that exceed the Center's capacity to provide ethically competent care, as determined by the treating clinician, will be referred to an appropriate community provider. Such students will be offered a case management appointment to facilitate the referral. HCC counselors are available for same-day urgent and emergent mental health needs. Call 503-777-7281 to schedule an appointment.
We are pleased to offer the expansion of mental health support through Uwill. It is encouraged to set up your account before you actually need to use the service. We hope that you take advantage of all of the resources listed above which are meant to support your academic and social success at Reed.
