The book examines the new ways time was shaped and experienced in the context of 16^th- and 17^th-century global Catholicism. Specifically, it focuses on how religious authors from Spain and New Spain adapt Christ-centered conceptions of existence to accommodate both a volatile post-eschatological world and the increased dominance of mechanical clock time.
