Below is a list of off-campus resources (primarily local, but some statewide and national resources too). Navigating resources can be overwhelming, and systems are complex. Connect with a confidential advocate for assistance if you would like support in reviewing your options.

Emergency Shelter

The following emergency shelters serve survivors of domestic, dating, or intimate partner violence. Availability is subject to change. View most recent shelter space availability on the Call to Safety Shelter List webpage, updated every morning, or call each shelter for more information. 

Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Advocacy

  • Call to Safety
    • 24/7 crisis line, follow-up advocacy, support groups, community outreach and education, and sexual assault medical advocacy. Can support survivors in any language.

  • Sexual Assault Resource Center
    • 24/7 crisis line, accompaniment to hospitals during sexual assault forensic exams, counseling, and support groups. Located in Washington County.

  • El Programa Hispano Catolico UNICA
    • Bilingual 24/7 support for survivors of interpersonal violence. Staff provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, shelter or motel advocacy, information about protective orders, mental health resources, and assistance in identifying resources.

Legal Assistance 

  • Victim Rights Law Center
    • Provides free, trauma informed legal services to sexual assault survivors. You can speak with an attorney during live intake hours (English or Spanish) at 503-399-5477 x6. Leave a message at (503) 274-5477 x6. 
  • Legal Aid Services of Oregon
    • Provides legal help to low-income Oregonians including farmworker specific, native american specific, and basic housing rights.

  • Oregon Law Center
    • Legal help and resources for low income people focusing on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child support, farmworker rights, and housing.

  • Oregon Crime Victims Law Center
    • Provides free legal counsel to qualifying crime victims, advocate accompaniment to report a crime or go to court, and help applying for Crime Victims Compensation.

  • Appellate Advocacy Program
    • Provides victims’ advocates to help survivors understand legal proceedings after conviction and sentencing; compensation for expenses related to trauma created by a case proceedings; travel reimbursement for attending hearings.

  • VISOR (Victim Information System in Oregon)
    • Free, computer-based service that allow you to check on an offender’s custody status either in a county or state facility, and register to receive notifications when an individual in custody is released or transferred.

  • NW Pilot Project
    • Provides assistance finding affordable housing and rental and deposit assistance.

LGBTQ Specific

  • Trans LifeLine
    • Provides confidential peer support for trans folx 7:00am – 1:00am. This line will not call police or emergency services if callers disclose they are in danger, without explicit consent.

    • Provides 24/7 crisis line advocacy and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ people under 25.

  • Bradley Angle – LGBTQ Services
    • Provides 1:1 advocacy for survivors who have or are experiencing an abusive relationship. Includes resource referrals, legal information, safe housing options, safety planning, and general support. Bradley Angle also offers basic needs assistance, support groups, and healthy relationship classes.

  • Sexual and Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (through New Avenues for Youth)
    • Provides a safe, supervised space for sexual and gender minority youth ages 13-23 to participate in activities such as art, music, community organizing, open mic nights, drag shows, and support groups. Youth may also access case management, counseling, education, and more.

  • Q Center
    • Provides sexual orientation programs, gender identity programs, addiction and mental health support programs, relationships programs, veterans groups, programs for LGBTQ seniors, youth, and more.

    • Provides free assistance for trans survivors of sexual assault seeking to change their gender on IDs and other legal documents.

  • Northwest Network
    • The NW Network of Bi, Trans, Lesbian and Gay Survivors of Abuse (based out of Seattle) works to end violence and abuse by building loving and equitable relationships.

  • Bridges Oregon
    • Serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, and general victimization who are deaf, deafblind, and Hard of Hearing in all Oregon counties.

Sex Worker Specific

  • PDX Sex Workers Resource Project
    • Portland Sex Workers Resource Project (PDX SWRP) is a Black and Indigenous led mutual aid group that supports those most vulnerable in the sex trades through material resources, direct funds, and personalized advocacy.
