Impact Northwest: AKA Science
Impact NW is a premier provider of educational and social services in the greater Portland metro area whose mission is to help people prosper through a community of support. AKA Science (All Kids Are Scientists) is a fun, hands-on science program for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. Kids participate in experiments that nurture their curiosity and help them explore the world around them. AKA Science uses inquiry-based activities to get kids excited about learning. In the past school year, AKA Science offered more than 200 classes and fifteen library workshops that served approximately 2,000 kids in northwest Oregon. Volunteers serve as Class Leaders, teaching once or twice weekly classes, or Science Kit Builders, putting together teaching kits for the coming term. Visit the Impact NW website to read more about the AKA Science program and involvement opportunities.
