Verifications
See the Transcripts & Diplomas page for transcript requests, replacement diplomas, and apostilles.
Verifications serve many purposes, including but not limited to internship and scholarship applications, visa applications for study abroad programs, insurance discounts, and loan deferments. The Registrar's Office at Reed College is able to provide the following types of verifications:
Degree Conferral: Reed College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree verifications. If you are a third party (e.g. an employer or background screening firm) requesting verification of conferral of a Reed student’s degree, please visit www.degreeverify.org.
Enrollment Status: The Registrar's Office can verify Reed College enrollment status and dates of attendance to third parties. (This is considered Directory Information; however, students can elect to block the release of Directory Information. Contact the Registrar, Jason Maher at 503-777-7774 or maherj@reed.edu to inquire about the request process.) For verifications related to loan deferments, the loan servicing agency typically provides specific forms for the Registrar’s Office to complete. Students can email these forms to registrar@reed.edu or bring them in-person to Eliot 315.
GPA: The Registrar’s office can verify cumulative grade point average to a third party by written request to registrar@reed.edu. Please note, if emailing from a non-Reed email address, it will be necessary to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. Also, current students and most alumni/former students may view and/or download an unofficial transcript with GPA information at no cost via Reed’s secure portal IRIS. Contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@reed.edu or 503-777-4119 if you encounter difficulties accessing IRIS.
Other Verifications: Students needing verification of something other than degree conferral, enrollment status, and/or GPA should contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@reed.edu.
