Four Reedies have been selected as Fulbright recipients for the upcoming year:
Zain Alattar ’14, as a Masters student in the Arabic and Islamic World programme at Sorbonne University in Paris, France;
Nicole Cohen ’16, as an English Teaching Assistant in Galicia, Spain;
Ben Hemenway '16 as an English Teaching Assistant in Germany; and
Hayden Bunker ’17, as an English Teaching Assistant in a public school in Taiwan.
A Fulbright was never part of Hayden’s plan, but after a few years at Reed, “being surrounded by ambitious, sharp, curious people definitely affected my imagination,” he explained. “Interacting with students and professors from around the world really made me want to participate in something more global.”
In his role as a teaching assistant, Hayden elaborated that he’ll also be acting as a consultant for American cultural issues.
