Dear Members of the Reed College Community,
I write to provide you with an update on the presidential search that continues to gain momentum. Let me begin by thanking so many of you who have provided the presidential search committee and the firm we have retained, Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, with names of prospective candidates for president of Reed College. Storbeck has been busy reaching out to their network and to the nominated individuals. Some of your nominees are currently being considered as candidates while others have suggested additional names that have expanded our list.
Out of the recommendations, we have developed a large and diverse pool of professionals who match the qualifications outlined in the Position Statement. While we cannot share information regarding specific candidates due to confidentiality restrictions, we are pleased to report that we have high-quality candidates and a widespread interest in our presidency.
Since our last communication with you, the students, staff, faculty, and trustees on the search committee have met several times and have been carefully reviewing applications. We are in the process of narrowing the field, which will take several additional steps and a great deal of work but will result in identifying the best candidates who have the experience and vision to lead Reed.
