On September 5, first-year Davis United World College (UWC) Scholars Yuki Nagura ’28 and Anna Donaldson ’28 were welcomed to campus at a luncheon attended by President Audrey Bilger and staff from Reed's admission office, international student services, and advancement. Also in attendance were Davis UWC Scholars Soraya Mwangi ’26 and Linda Lu ’24. The incoming scholars were each presented with a gift of a crystal globe from the Davis United World College Scholars Program as part of their welcome to Reed.

40 Davis UWC Scholars have matriculated at Reed since the college became one of 100 partner institutions of Davis UWC Scholars Program in 2008. The program provides graduates of United World College secondary schools with funding to attain degrees in the United States. The program is founded on the belief that future leaders from all cultures should be provided opportunities to attend American colleges and universities, and that an internationally diverse and globalized student body on US campuses contributes to better communities for learning.
