Rachel Modlin
Assistant Collaborative Pianist
Rachel Modlin (she/her) is a collaborative pianist from Portland, OR and enjoys an eclectic array of gigs as a freelancer. She works frequently with ensembles such as Portland Playhouse and Portland Center Stage, Metropolitan Youth Symphony, and religious organizations including Congregation Beth Israel and The Madeleine. Rachel is also a staff pianist at Classical Ballet Academy.
In addition to her performance schedule, Rachel is the administrative assistant for Fear No Music and the personal assistant for Kenji Bunch. Outside of music, Rachel teaches ballet to young dancers at Classical Ballet Academy.
Rachel received her B.A. in Music from Reed College and a minor in French, receiving academic honors. Her studies were supported by the Kaufman and Rothschild scholarships. She wrote a thesis on the spectral roles of the collaborative pianist advised by Professor Mark Burford.
