Bitwarden Password Manager

With data breaches seemingly happening every other week, it is critically important to use a unique password for all of your online accounts. This is impossible for most humans to keep track of, hence the need for password managers.

Bitwarden is the password manager we recommend. It is free and open-source, and makes auto-generating random passwords and auto-filling them a breeze! Let's get started. 

  1. Make an account on their site here. Take extreme care to memorize this one password. It is the only password you ever need to remember again.  
  2. Install the Bitwarden extension for whichever browser(s) you use, following their instructions here.
  3. Finally, install the Bitwarden app for your iOS or Android device by following their instructions here.

 

When creating new accounts, use the Bitwarden password generator to autogenerate a password for you. It will be gibberish, but remember--you do not have to memorize these passwords; Bitwarden will auto-fill it for you.
