National Cheng Kung University - Chinese Language Center
Tainan, Taiwan
The Chinese Language Center, founded in 1956, teaches Chinese as a second language to 1,700 students from 70 different countries during each academic year. Reed students will join small classes of students from beginner to advanced who share a common goal of wishing to communicate in Chinese and learn more about Chinese history and culture. Students live and study in Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan. Dotted with Taoist and Buddhist temples Tainan provides both a rich cultural history combined with a modern, rapid paced society.
Academic Calendar: Seasonal Regular Class (Quarters, 10-11 weeks per quarter)

Reed College charges the same tuition fees for a semester or year off-campus as for a semester or year spent on campus, plus the program's actual room and board fees. Reed College encourages students to choose programs based on their academic rather than financial needs to reflect Reed's belief that all students, regardless of financial circumstances, should have the opportunity to study abroad.
Financial aid continues for eligible students during the off-campus program. Students should discuss with the Financial Aid Office how other outside aid may impact their existing aid package. Check out more details directly on the Reed College Financial Aid page.
