The first page of Mikraot Gedolat, the Rabbinic edition of the Hebrew
Bible. The large letters in the upper right corner are the first words of the
Torah [Bereshit bara Elohim et ha-Shamayim, "in the beginning God created
the heavens"]. The sections surrounding the Bible verse are its Aramaic
translation [to its left] and a series of commentaries from the medieval and
early modern periods.
