Campus & Building Access

Access to the private campus and buildings of Reed College is by permission only. Access is limited to people affiliated with the college, invited guests, and others doing business with the college. Members of the public may access campus areas and buildings generally open to the public as visitors during normal business hours and to attend events open to the public.

Expectations

People affiliated with the college must identify themselves by presenting Reed ID upon request from any member of the Reed community.

People who are unaffiliated with the college must identify themselves upon request from any member of the Reed community, and may be required to provide valid government-issued ID in order to remain on campus.

Access may not interfere with college programs or operations. People who violate Reed policy or local, state, or federal law may lose campus access privileges.

Accountability

People affiliated with the college who decline to identify themselves, but who are reasonably believed to otherwise be entitled to access campus, may be subject to the accountability practices associated with their role at the college as students, faculty, staff, or other affiliates.

People affiliated with the college, but who decline to identify themselves and who are not otherwise reasonably known to have a college affiliation, may be excluded from campus by a member of the college's Community Safety department.

People who are unaffiliated with the college and who decline to identify themselves may be excluded from campus by a member of the college's Community Safety department.

People who have been excluded from campus but refuse to leave, or who return without permission, may be subject to arrest and prosecution for criminal trespass under Oregon law.
