Statistical and Econometric Software
Various academic departments at Reed maintain statistical software packages that are particularly suited to the kinds of statistical analysis common in their disciplines. Economics is no exception. Reed has numerous statistical packages to support econometric analysis in classes and thesis work.
The most commonly used statistical software for Reed economics students is Stata, which is a general-purpose statistical package used in both Econ 311 and 312. Stata is available on the Reed network and can be run on any campus computers.
Economics students often need to find data in order to support their research activities. A cooperative initiative between the Computing and Information Systems office and the Reed Library has led to the Data@Reed program, which enlists the support of staff in both offices in helping students and faculty find and use online data resources.
