The Brooklyn Rail Yard Project is a thesis project started by Alan Tuan '14 to study the effects of rail activity on air quality in Portland, OR. The project consists of two sites, one located at the Reed College Warehouses on SE 28th Ave and another located at the Eastmoreland Golf Course. This project studies black carbon, carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), ozone (O3), particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), and also collects weather data.
