Kara currently teaches a fall lecture-lab course in Developmental Biology (BIO351L), a spring seminar on Development of the Visual System (BIO 431), and a section of Reed's introductory Biology sequence, Topics in Biology (BIO 102L). Students interested in contributing to on-going investigations of proliferation and differentiation control, eye and visual system development, or other developmental biology related topics are encouraged to contact Kara about doing a Thesis (BIO 471) with her.
In addition, based on her strong interest in science writing and communication, Kara has advised students interested in scientific writing and enjoys working with people in the arts and sciences to bring developmental and cellular biology to a wider audience.
