Communications and Reminders from Reed

A Message From Reed Mail Services

Dear Student,

The team from Reed College Mail Services is pleased to welcome you to Reed and looks forward to seeing you on campus.

In early August, Mail Services will assign you a student mail stop number. Please check your IRIS account to find your mail stop number. This is an integral part of your Reed mailing address.

Beginning August 19, you may begin shipping items to Reed. Please do not begin shipping until August 19. If scheduling requires that you ship before that date, please call 503-777-7214 or email Mail Services to make arrangements.

Please use this address format for all mail at Reed:

Student Name
Reed College MS ###
3203 SE Woodstock Blvd
Portland, OR 97202-8199

Helpful Tips

  • Always use the designation MS (mail stop). Our mail receptacles are not P.O. boxes or boxes. USPS may misdirect your mail if designations other than MS are used. This is important to remember when you open a bank account or start a magazine subscription.
  • If you cannot access your mail stop number at shipping time, you may write “new student” in the second line of the address (provided you are shipping after August 19).
  • When you arrive on campus, visit Mail Services to get the combination to your mail stop.
  • We will email you if you have any packages. Please bring your Reed ID to the Mail Services window to pick up your packages. Hand trucks are available for transport to your residence hall.
  • Always keep your mailbox door locked to deter theft. After you check your mail, please close the door and twirl the dials to lock it.
  • We treat your mail stop number as confidential information, so please keep that in mind before sharing it with others.

We hope you have a smooth transition to campus. All of us at Mail Services look forward to assisting with your shipping and mailing needs.

Best,

Jason Schrack
