We can’t wait to see you on campus this August! We’re reaching out with an important update from the Reed College Bookstore as well as laptop recommendations from the Reed IT department.
Bookstore: Deadlines and Hum 110 Discount
The bookstore has partnered with Dormify for linen orders. If you’d like to have your order shipped directly to Reed, please wait until August 12 to place your order and include your mail stop number.
Tuesday, August 6, is the deadline to receive a 10% discount on your books for Humanities 110. This book bundle will be available for pickup in the bookstore beginning August 26. You can place your preorder on the bookstore website.
The bookstore also offers Student Charge Accounts that can be used to make purchases in-store and on our website. These are interest-free accounts with no fees. Using a Student Charge Account is a great way to have all your textbooks by the first day of class, even if you are waiting for additional financial aid to be processed.

IT Department: Laptop Recommendations
The Reed IT department wants to ensure that you have the technology you need to participate successfully in your classes and recommends that each student have their own laptop computer capable of running email, a modern web browser, Microsoft Office, and Zoom.
Detailed recommendations for both Mac and Windows are available on the Reed IT getting equipment web page.
Along with Apple education pricing, our Mac recommendations are eligible for the Apple Back To School 2024 promotion! You can learn more about the promotion and purchase Apple products directly from Apple at the Apple education store for Reed College.
