Required Student Training: U Got This!

Hello Student,

Greetings from SHARE—the Sexual Health, Advocacy, and Relationship Education program at Reed College! As SHARE’s Program Director, I am so glad to be part of your welcome to campus.

SHARE is committed to cultivating and inspiring a culture on campus that values autonomy, mutual respect, and the full realization of consent, with the goal of fostering a safe and supportive environment. In support of this goal, we ask that you complete a series of online trainings before Orientation starts on Monday, August 26.

We have partnered with Catharsis Productions to provide U Got This!, an interactive online intervention training. It addresses interpersonal violence (sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking) and provides tools to help you challenge disrespectful and abusive behavior when you witness it.

In short, this training is one way to demonstrate your commitment to building a consent culture on campus—one that challenges harmful social norms and supports ongoing, mutual respect for the boundaries of ourselves and others.

You will be expected to complete three separate modules for this training. Each module should take around 15 minutes to complete, for a total of 45 minutes. They may be completed in one sitting, or can be spaced out to accommodate the timing that works best for you.

ACCESS THE U GOT THIS! TRAINING

Once in the training, please make sure your name appears at the top of the dashboard. We recommend using the Google Chrome browser to complete the program, as well as making sure you are in a location with a strong Wi-Fi connection. If you have any technical issues, please contact Catharsis Productions.

You will be credited with completing a given module once you see a completion page at the end of the interactive session. The next module will become available to complete on the landing page. In order to receive credit, you must complete all three modules.

If you exit the training midway, you should be able to pick up where you left off. However, if you have cleared your cache, changed browsers, or switched devices before your return, you will be required to start the module over.

If you have questions regarding other ways of completing this training or are seeking additional support, please contact me at mattsonl@reed.edu. Another great resource is Christy Martin, Reed’s Title IX Coordinator, who you can reach at cmartin@reed.edu
