Learn Beyond the Classroom

Gather data and conduct research in Reed's Lab of Linguistics. Stocked with audio recorders, microphones, headphones, speakers, cameras, and laptops, as well as equipment for aerodynamic, electroglottographic, ultrasound, and static palatographic research, the lab is used for student projects, including theses, term papers, and independent studies.

Take Great Courses with Exceptional Professors

Reed professors teach all of our courses, which cover a range of exciting areas. After completing our introductory level course, take an upper division courses on morphosyntactic typology, dialects of English, or language, sex, gender, and sexuality.
