The schedule provided here gives you an idea of what to expect during New Reedie Orientation. Between now and when you arrive on campus, sessions may shift and new events will be added so keep checking back for new details.

You can also subscribe to our GCal schedule for both students and parent. Please click the buttons on the navigation bar to your left to get these calendars. These, too, will be changing as we add new events over the summer.

Events marked as (PO) indicate programs specifically designed for parents. Events marked (GO) indicate programs that are generally obligatory for all new students. Please attend all GO events so you won't miss important information about academics and life at Reed.

Shakespeare in the Parks: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Portland Actors Ensemble presents the perfect play for viewing on the lawn, directed by Douglas Lay for the ensemble's 45th annual performance. One of Shakespeare's most popular works, this delightful situation comedy makes sport of love, marriage, and acting, supported by a memorable cast of fairies. There are two additional performances, August 31 and September 1, so don't miss out!

How to Throat Sing

Want to learn how to sing two notes at once? How about an octave below your normal range? It’s not that hard to do, so come learn how. We’ll also be covering some of the science behind how throat singing works.
