DIVISION OF STUDENT SERVICES
Peer Mentor Program
Events and Activities
Reed's Peer Mentor Program offers an opportunity for incoming students from under-represented backgrounds to build connection with each other and with current Reedies who are excited to share about their own first year experience at Reed.
Students who have signed up for this program must attend a four-day Odyssey the weekend prior to new Reedie orientation. During the PMP Odyssey, students get to know the city of Portland, learn about networks of support on campus, and build relationships with fellow new Reedies, peer mentors, staff, and faculty.
The PMP Odyssey is useful for students who are eager to meet their peers, and for students who have questions about adjusting to the Reed culture. The purpose of the retreat is to connect early with valuable support networks on campus, start establishing relationship with fellow members in the program, and get a sense of the diversity within our community at Reed.
Events during the year
Throughout the year, the PMP Interns plan a variety of interesting events and programs, including off-campus outings, birthday celebrations, game nights, and academic support sessions. PMP participants will receive a schedule of events at the beginning of each semester.
