January 1, 2014 Update
Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe that we’ve been using GPS and Banner for payroll for a full year. The implementation team would like to thank all of you for your input, comments and patience as we worked through the new processes this year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
2014 payroll calendars are now available for both semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls on the left of this page.
Minimum Wage Change
Effective 1/1/14, the Oregon state minimum wage increased $0.15 per hour, so it is now $9.10.
Student Salary Scale Updated
The student salary scale has been updated to reflect the minimum wage change. We have increased each hourly rate in the scale by $0.15. See the new scale in the employment section of IRIS and under the student tab at the left.
Portland Paid Sick Time
You all should have received an email from Michelle Valintis and Tracy Frantel on 12/20/13 regarding the new city ordinance providing Portland Paid Sick Time for contract, temporary and on-call staff and students. It does not affect faculty and other staff as the college already provides a more generous sick time benefit. This ordinance goes into effect 1/1/14.
Please see the current sick leave policy on the GPS other info page.
There are also new FAQ’s under the FAQ link on the left of this page.
There will be two drop-in information sessions regarding Portland Paid Sick Time in ETC 211.
We especially encourage student employers to attend these sessions with any questions that you might have after reading the FAQ’s.
If you have any questions, please contact Payroll Services or Human Resources.
