Presenter AV Information
For those of you with AV needs, we would suggest that you bring your presentation on a flash drive or your own laptop. If you bring your own computer, it's still a good idea to bring an additional copy of your presentation on a flash drive as a back up. We will have a tech person on site for all-day Saturday and for Sunday morning.
All presentation rooms will have Mac computers that are hooked up to projectors as well as cables for laptop hookups. We can hook up both Mac and PC laptops.
We ask you to think carefully about using PowerPoint. For those presenters whose topics (art history, film, etc.) require AV, PowerPoint is a very handy tool. PowerPoint can be a printed distraction (or, worse, repetition!), however, rather than clarification. It frequently draws the audience's focus away from you and the argument you are making, and toward the print on the screen.
While all presentation rooms will have podiums (half or full), microphones are not needed.
