Film Screening & Discussion with Guillermo Calderón

Reed College and Boom Arts Boom Arts will bring Chilean playwright Guillermo Calderón to Portland for a two-day residency at the college, "Memory, Politics, & Human Rights in Chile: Playwright Guillermo Calderón." In addition to his work as a playwright, Guillermo Calderón is also an accomplished screenwriter. His film Violeta Went to Heaven, a biopic of Violeta Parra (Chile’s answer to Joan Baez), was Chile’s entry in the 86th Academy Awards. A screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with Calderón.
