Planned Outages

Network upgrade Tuesday, July 29, 7:30am (Posted )

On Tuesday, July 29th at 7:30am Computing & Information Services is planning a critical upgrade to the academic network.

Campuswide services affected include:

  • wired academic network
  • wireless networks (both ReedXenia and Reed1x)
  • all web and email services
  • access to Library resources

Note: The administrative network will have internet connectivity, but the services listed above will be unavailable. Phones will continue to function normally.

The network will be down for less than 15 minutes but there may be service disruptions that extend longer. We expect all services to be restored by 8:30am.

In the coming weeks, additional academic network upgrades will be necessary. Each upgrade will affect only the wired academic and wireless networks in one building at a time. Building occupants will be contacted in advance with information on what to expect and how to prepare.

Banner REAL down for maintenance Friday night. (Posted )

The Banner REAL Oracle instance will be down for maintenance between 10PM Friday 7/25 and 2AM Saturday 7/26. This will offline certain applications (including portions of IRIS) for the duration. Please email dba@reed.edu with any concerns, thanks.
