System Status

  Network Maintenance still in progress

As of 9:00am, Saturday, August 1st, most network services have been restored except for VPN access.  Status updates will be posted as necessary.  If you  encounter any service problems please email firewall@reed.edu.

 Network Maintenance still in progress

As of 5pm, Friday, July 31st, most network services have been restored except for: IRIS, Banner, Banner Self-Service, GPS, alumni email forwarding, financial aid self-service, and the online computer store. The next status update is planned for noon on Saturday, August the 1st, or earlier. To report other service problems please email firewall@reed.edu

Planned Outages

Upcoming critical network maintenance

Today, Friday, July 31st at 1:00pm, CIS will perform required maintenance on the campus network.  During the maintenance, all internet and network access will be disrupted.  This includes access to all websites (including reed.edu), your Reed email and calendar, and network files from on and off campus.

We expect the following essential services to be restored by 5:00 Friday afternoon.

  • campus phones (downtime is expected to be minimal)

  • access to Reed email

  • internet connectivity from wired and wireless networks

  • campus network connectivity

  • main campus website (www and academic)

Restoration of other essential services will be prioritized, and all services will be brought back online as quickly as possible.

Some services, including VPN access to Reed’s network, may be offline over the weekend.  Should you discover an issue with network access during the weekend or upon returning to campus on Monday, August 3rd, please send a detailed email to firewall@reed.edu.  Please include your specific location, network (wired, ReedXenia, Reed1x), and what service or application you are attempting to use.
