Macintosh
Dictation software is available on all of the mLab computers on the macintosh side in the form of the MacBasic dictation software. This can be accessed by going to system preferences, located on the dock, then into the "Dictation and speech" tab, and finally by turning on dictation on that screen. Keyboard shortcuts may then be customized, along with setting up voice commands. While the built in microphone is usable, for longer jobs a USB headset with microphone might be necessary.
Dragon
In addition to the Macintosh side dictation software, one of the mLab computers is equipped with Dragon Naturally Speaking, a dedicated dictation program with features allowing you to navigate a web browser, send emails, create documents, and more using only your voice. This software is relatively powerful and specialized, allowing the computer to be nearly entirely operated with voice.
